About the event

Tallinn is a city with a rich LGBT+ history, which has only begun to be explored in more depth in recent years.

LGBT+ history researcher Taavi Koppel will take you on an exploration around the streets of the Old Town and share different stories about the city and its queer communities over the past 300 years.

Among other things, they will answer burning questions such as: What did the 17th-century church think about changing birth documents? How and where did cruising take place in the center of Tallinn? We will also fondly look back upon the legendary gay bars on Sauna street.

The leisurely 2.5 km tour lasts just over an hour and is free to participate in.

The tour starts  at Viru Gate in the Old Town and ends at the museum Vabamu.

After the tour, you can visit the LGBT+ exhibition in Vabamu with a museum ticket.

Tour is in English.
